Join us for the 10th annual High Country Beer Fest at the High Country Fairgrounds. Sample craft beers, craft food, music, and seminars in the high country of North Carolina. Our seminars will cover aspects of beer tasting, brewing, and food pairing.

This is a 100% non-profit event. Our primary beneficiary of the event is ASU Fermentation Sciences, but we also support other local non-profit organizations, including The Children's Council of Watauga CountryHigh Country Local FirstHigh Country MommiesBlue Ridge Conservancy-Middle Fork Greenway AssociationThe Mountain Alliance, and Ivory Tower, Inc.

WNC Bigfoot Festival

Don't miss this brand new festival in western North Carolina that celebrates the legendary Bigfoot, aka Sasquatch. It will be held 12-6 PM in downtown Marion, located about 36 miles east of Asheville.

In addition to Sasquatch-themed items, find a variety of local craft and food vendors at the first ever Bigfoot Jubilee Festival. Also attend book signings, lectures, and live demonstrations about how to hunt for the mysterious creature. Several booths will be devoted for Bigfoot hunters from across the country to present their photographs and plaster casts from expeditions into the woods. Enter the Bigfoot calling and Bigfoot knocking contests! Run a 5K at 8 AM.

We sold out quickly last time, so get your tickets asap. ALL TICKETS SALES GO STRAIGHT TO SARGES ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION.

Cocktail Specials include the Salty Dog, Pink Poodle, Russian Blue, and the Crazy Cat Lady
$20 presale and $25 at the door. Tickets are available at Sarge's Adoption Center and Boojum's Taproom. All proceeds going to Haywood County animals in need. Hope to see you there!

West King String Band - Live at the Gem

Cultivated on the porches and back yards across the train tracks on West King Street in St. Augustine, Florida, West King String Band draws from countless genres of music to create a unique homegrown sound they call 'blues-grass'. The outfit took their manic, upbeat riffs on the road and have embarked on several east coast tours and recorded multiple EP's. Their first full length album "Achin'" released in August of 2016 captivates the blues-grass sound and features both foot stomping songs full of energy and technique as well as slow bluesy grooves accompanied by lyrics tinged with sadness and humor.

Cold Mountain Festival

On Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9, Lake Logan Conference Center will host the second Annual Cold Mountain Music Festival. The ALL AGES, family friendly event will raise funds and awareness for Lake Logan and Camp Henry. In addition to two days of top notch musical talent, the festival will feature a kids' area, food and beverage vendors (INCLUDING BOOJUM!), and an after party at Sit n Whittle Village.

Reggae artist Ryan Melquist has solid roots in playing reggae with over a decade of experience gigging up and down the east coast. In 2014 he went on to form the group Qwister who seamlessly juggles elements of Roots, Dub, Rock, and a taste of Pop. As they are always sharpening an evolving musical arrangement of Vocal Melodies and improve jams that can go any direction during any song on any given night, the music and lyrics are catchy and upbeat. ‘round the Fire is a Waynesville, NC trio. Chris Minick (guitar, vocals), Lee Kram (percussion, vocals) and Greg Kidd (bass) have enjoyed making music together for many years, forming the band in 2012. They share a variety of musical influences including 1960’s era rock, blues, folk and jug band. They pull from a large bag of original tunes as well as favorites by the likes of The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young. ‘round the Fire has performed their music in a wide range of venues including private parties, pubs and festivals gaining fans young and old. They invite you to join them around the fire for songs and stories.
